Mail Requests Within the US:
1. You can only request 10 tapes or less at a time, any more and it will take too long. Tapes are Fuji Pros, usually green shells with clear plastic cases and labels. The tapes are usually 120 minutes, but I recently got a bunch of 135-minute tapes. I use 6-head 19 micron HiFi VCRs to play/record and everything is connected using Monster Cables, tapes are recorded in SP only. Quality can vary from tape to tape so I have a quality scale, but if you have a question about the quality of a title feel free to ask before requesting. I am not responsible for tapes that do not live up to your expectations of quality. I ship via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. Here is a pricing table in US funds and includes shipping:
1 Tape | 2 Tapes | 3 Tapes | 4 Tapes | 5 Tapes | 6 Tapes | 7 Tapes | 8 Tapes | 9 Tapes | 10 Tapes |
$9 | $15 | $22 | $29 | $36 | $43 | $50 | $57 | $64 | $70 |
2. Email me what you would like to request and payment method. I accept personal checks, money orders or cash (at your own risk).
3. I will email you back with my name, address and cost.
4. Send the letter, please include a note with the tapes you are requesting, contact email and address to where you want the tapes delivered. Do not email me two days after you sent the letter asking if I received it yet. The mail system isn't magical and I can only pick up mail on the weekends when I go home. If it's been two weeks since you sent it and your zip code still isn't on the status page, then email me.
5. Once I receive your letter I will update the status page and work on your tapes. Turnaround (the time it takes from when I get your letter to when tapes are sent out) is anywhere from 2 days to 4 weeks. Bear in mind that I live on campus an hour away from home. All mail is sent home for security reasons and most of my tape collection is left home for lack of space. I usually go home once a week, but sometimes once every other week. I will only be able to pick up your letter or tapes that I need to copy during those times. Because of this, requests could take as long as 4 weeks to complete. If I'm in the middle of finals or very busy it might take longer, I will let you know when that happens.
6. I will email you the delivery confirmation number once I have sent the tapes. You can check the status of your package at the USPS website.
7. If there are any damaged tapes or other problems let me know and we will work it out.
Mail Requests International:
1. For international requests, you can only request 6 tapes or less at a time. Tapes are Fuji Pros, usually green shells with clear plastic cases and labels. The tapes are usually 120 minutes, but I recently got a bunch of 135-minute tapes. I use 6-head 19 micron HiFi VCRs to play/record and everything is connected using Monster Cables, tapes are recorded in SP with NTSC signal. If you need a PAL transfer I can refer you to someone that does it for about $10 per tape. Quality can vary from tape to tape so I have a quality scale, but if you have a question about the quality of a title feel free to ask before requesting. I am not responsible for tapes that do not live up to your expectations of quality.
2. Email me what you would like to request, payment method and the country where you live. I will check on how much shipping will be to your country. If the cost is higher than Priority Shipping within the US, or if you want a different shipping method, the cost will reflect the difference. I certify all international packages. International Money Orders and International Checks are expensive to cash, please tell me which method you plan on paying and I'll send you the adjusted cost. I will accept foreign currency, let me know if you plan to pay this way and I will send you the adjusted cost. I accept International Checks, International Money Orders or Cash (at your own risk, in USD or Canadian only).
3. I will email you back with my name, address and adjusted cost.
